Staff Development
Staff members who work with youth on a daily basis are a significant contributor to their success. Serving as an influential protective factor, staff members impact the behavior and outcomes of the youth that they work with. Valuable interactive training in areas such as professionalism, relationship building, and behavior modification
is provided to residential programs and other out of home placements serving at risk youth.
Staff Development services are also conducted based on the needs of the agency being served. We will work with program staff in order to determine the most critical areas in need of training services.
Areas of staff development include, but are not limited to:
Professionalism
Relationship Development with staff, youth, resource agencies
Behavior Modification
Self Sufficiency/ Life Skills
Treatment Planning
Client Retention
Motivational Speaking
The Child Welfare League of America reports that youth identify relationships with people who care about them as playing a crucial role in making it on their own. As positive relationship development with consistent adults has a significant impact on successful outcomes for youth, WEST MOTIVATIONS seeks to establish collaborative relationships with youth and agency staff rather than providing a one time visitor and motivational speaker.
Topics for motivational speaking are individualized, based on a strengths and needs assessment conducted with program staff. Services are delivered based on the unique strengths and needs of each agency and youth served in an effort to provide the most effective services possible.
Topics for motivational speaking include, but are not limited to:
Dealing with frustration
Depression
Problem solving/Conflict resolution
Self esteem
Anger management
Versatility
Preparation for independent living
